Process How a job runs
No surprises, start to finish.
This is the tactical way, day by day: exactly what happens from the first call to the final walkthrough, how long the steps usually take, and what we'll ask you to do before we show up.
Why we plan the board layout first · Before we arrive, dust control and timing
Eight steps. Same order every time.
Before we arriveSmall jobs compress a few of these. Big jobs follow every one.
- 01Day 0
First contact
Call, or text photos or plans. Photos and plans are often enough for a ballpark.
- 02Walkthrough
Look and measure
We measure, check framing and heat, look at the light in each room, and ask about finish level, texture, timing and who's painting.
- 03Within a few days
Written scope and price
Rooms, square footage, board types, finish level per room, texture, start date, what's included and what isn't. Changes later get written and priced before we do them.
- 04Start day
Protect
Floors covered on the path in and the work area. Doorways and HVAC returns sealed with plastic. Furniture moved or wrapped. Nothing starts until this is done.
- 05Day 1–2
Hang
Ceilings first, then walls. Corner bead on. Scrap picked up as we go.
- 06Next several days
Tape and coats
Tape coat, fill coat, finish coat, with drying time between. Some days we're there for an hour; that's normal. Cold weather adds days.
- 07Final days
Sand, texture, paint
Sanding with dust control, texture sprayed or troweled to the sample you approved, then primer and paint if they're in the scope. Plastic down, floors cleaned.
- 08Last day
Walk it together
We go room by room with a work light. Anything that's not right gets marked and fixed before we call the job done.
